Inhalt: Als ihre an Schlafstörungen leidende Mutter Marlene (Sandra Hüller) nach einem Zwischenfall in einem Hotel in eine Klinik gebracht wird, macht sich Tochter Mona (Gro Swantje Kohlhof) auf zu ihrer Mutter und dann in das Hotel, um sich auf Spurensuche zu begeben. Es stellt sich heraus, dass die ach so schöne Beherbergungseinrichtung manch dunkles Kapitel hinter sich hat. Und genau diese Düsternis greift auch in der Gegenwart noch nach den Menschen.

    In Sleep, Marlene (Sandra Hüller), keeps an obsessive record of her nightmares, sketching key images when she wakes. Artist Christoph Vieweg created many more images than were seen on screen, all of which provide a glimpse, a clue to the narrative in the film. These images later appeared as part of a gallery show at the Kunstverin Gera, in Thuringia, Germany titled "Floating Transitions". They are presented here in full with introductory text by director Michael Venus.
